Who we are

We are Great Lakes Scrip Center, a gift card fundraising company made up of people who were tired of running the traditional fundraising gamut. Most of us have run scrip fundraisers or participated in them, so it’s safe to say we’re experts in all things scrip!

What we do

We provide an easy and convenient fundraising solution for over 30,000 nonprofit organizations. With the largest selection of gift cards and our ShopWithScrip and SCRIPWARE softwares, we help organizations raise money one gift card at a time.

Why we do it

Fundraising isn’t fun, that’s why our co-founders wanted to try something different to cut down the cost of parochial school tuition, and Great Lakes Scrip Center was born. Since 1994, we’ve helped busy parents save their time for the things that matter.

President

Dan Springer has been the President of Great Lakes Scrip Center for the last eight years. Before holding his current position, Dan was also the Vice President and General Manager for over two years.

Throughout his time at GLSC, Springer has enjoyed the challenge and reward that comes with developing new technology to make scrip fundraising an even better experience for coordinators and families. Springer devotes a lot of attention to nurturing GLSC’s long-term relationships with its retail partners and looks to create more benefits for both GLSC customers and the retailers in years to come.

Jack Smith

CEO

CEO, Jack Smith, has been a part of Great Lakes Scrip Center since the very beginning as his wife, Carol, co-founded the company. Smith wore many hats when he unofficially joined the company in 1994, fulfilling every need from finance and payroll aficionado to keying in orders, and even a salesman.

In 1996, he started officially working for GLSC and began to develop a system to forecast sales growth, in addition to becoming the official face of Great Lakes Scrip Center and developing relationships with our Retail Partners. He loves that with scrip, families don’t have to buy anything they weren’t spending money on already, and he’s excited to find ways to help more and more groups across the country find out about gift card fundraising.

In total, Whalen has worked at GLSC for over nine years, having been a Fulfillment Team Member, an IT Support Manager, and a Customer Support Manager before taking on her current position.

Over her time at GLSC, Whalen has cultivated the company’s Customer Service department and has nurtured excellent relationships with GLSC’s retail partners. Having a bit of a technology background, and having used scrip to fundraise herself, she is excited about the future of GLSC incorporating more technology into fundraising to help more families support the things that matter.
